And yes! However, the modem will still have to be connected to the A1200
mobo, as the AmigaOne doesn't have any serial ports...

Well, you u can replace the AriadneII with a supported PC PCI ethernet card
drivers are being written for a popular SCSI adaptor, and the Picasso2 will
be easily out-done by either using a Voodoo3 or the NG Matrox card.

Hardware requirements will not be much of a problem: you're going to be
emulating a 68060 (I think) at speeds that any normal Amiga will never see!
Not to mention a ton of RAM at VERY reasonable prices :)
So the software shouldn't be a problem either: everything will be under 68k
emulation except for the OS and any other PPC based software you have.
As you say, Shapeshifter may have its moments, but Miami should function
pretty well as your default TCP/IP stack (though AmigaOS 4.x will be
supplied with a PowerPC TCP/IP stack).

Yup, fraid so. But look at it this way: you'll be getting a much more
powerful and up-to-date system to boot!

Damn straight sir! You are not alone: we have been looking forward to this
for a looooong time... And now it is finally upon us :D

Paul
